Swift is moving all of its Carrera range over to have an all electric habitation area for the 2027 season, without even the option of having gas.
The company believes that, in face of increasing demand for more sustainable, off-grid campervanning, the time is right to make the change.
This is not the only new season news that could appeal to those on the hunt for the best camper van either, as Swift has also launched a new Fiat Ducato-based Merlin campervan range for the 2027 season.
This will see all models kitted out with a 340Ah Roamer battery, a 3KW inverter, and a three-in-one charger for mains charging, DC-DC en-route charging, and charging from 240W of campervan solar panels (two 120W panels for fixed roof models and a a single panel for the 244 with a pop-top roof).

All this will charge everything in the kitchen, including a two-burner induction hob, an oven, a microwave, and an air fryer, as well as interior lighting and sockets. The vehicle itself will still run on diesel which will power the Truma 6Kw heater.

Swift thinks such a combination means that with normal use the vehicle should be able to last at least four days between charges.

The new 2027 models also get new graphics on the outside, flush-fitting windows and a black awning. There is an optional Storm Blue exterior colour, in contrast to the standard grey.
There are six models in the line-up: five high tops and the four-berth 244 with a pop-top roof.
The Trekker campervan range, meanwhile, continues largely as before, with two models – the high top two-berth Trekker XF and the four-berth Trekker X with a pop-top roof.
The Ford Transit Custom-based Monza range, meanwhile, has been discontinued, but see what we had to say about buying a used Swift Monza recently if it’s a ‘van which could appeal.
Swift has also recently announced its 2027 motorhome line-up for the new season. The manufacturer has dropped the overcab models from its Voyager line-up while its Kon-Tiki models have received a facelift.
