The National Firefly Class Association’s 80th anniversary boat draw was designed to get Fireflys sailing again, not simply to find one lucky winner. Club fleets that had gone quiet are back out racing.

Class 40 is again the biggest division in the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe and in many respects it’s a microcosm of everything the key elements of the race’s DNA.

Sunday the 6th of September sees the start of the Devon Eyes Autumn Series at the Royal Western Yacht Club. Offering classes for IRC, VPRS, YTC and Devon Yawls with two races scheduled each Sunday of the series.

World Sailing has announced that the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) in Auckland, New Zealand, has been selected to host the 2027 World Sailing Youth Match Racing Worlds and the 2027 World Sailing Women’s Match Racing Worlds.

The 2026 GBR IRC National Championship was held as part of the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta Sailing Week during the final week of August.

Following four fantastic days of racing on the Welsh Riviera, I fully intended to get this report written whilst travelling for work. The plan was simple: charge the laptop at Heathrow, write the report and bask in the glow of another brilliant event.

For the ninth year running, the Allspars Final Fling Dinghy Regatta returns on the 17th & 18th October 2026. Bringing with it the excitement, camaraderie and competitive spirit that have made this end-of-season regatta a favourite.

Three races were completed on Thursday despite tricky, ever-changing conditions. Racing started at 11:00 as scheduled in 16–19 knots of wind and a metre of swell, but the breeze swung up and down between 7 and 19 knots throughout the afternoon.

Thirteen Red Fleet Yawls, lucky for some it turns out, foregathered for the Devon Eyes sponsored Autumn open meeting.
