The opening day of the Santa Maria Cup, Stage 2 of the 2026 Women’s World Match Racing Tour, delivered a thrilling start on the waters of Annapolis as ten of the world’s top women match racing teams battled for early supremacy.

By finishing fourth in the final leg of the 57th edition of La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec between Pornichet and Le Havre, Nicolas Lunven (PRB) secured overall victory ahead of Alexis Thomas (Wings of the Ocean) and Paul Morvan (Foricher-French Touch).

The 2026 Star Eastern Hemisphere Championship got underway in dramatic fashion on Lake Balaton, where thunderstorms, shifting winds and a storm warning tested both sailors and race officials before a single opening race could be completed.

The annual migration of YWDB’s from the coast to Gloucestershire took place at the weekend with nine boats competing in a calm and beautifully sunny event. There was very little wind, a fair bit of current, and it was extremely hot.

The Supernova fleet enjoyed a challenging and highly competitive day of racing on a wonderful sunny day in Cardiff Bay. With the Welsh Dragon event delivering shifting winds, multiple course changes and close racing throughout the fleet.

This year’s Solo Open Meeting, the tenth which the LSC have run, followed on from the previous day’s Vintage Championships saw a small but relative competitive fleet of much newer boats combined with the remnants of yesterday’s older boats.

Eight visitors and nine club members entered for this the eighth Solo Vintage Championship at this club, again well supported by Rooster Sailing.
