With seven months to go before the 2026 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, entries to the world-famous event opened today, Tuesday 26 May.

The fifth edition of the ORC Double-Handed World Championship concluded in Scheveningen, the Netherlands, after four days of offshore racing on the North Sea, where 29 double-handed teams from eight nations battled for the 2026 world titles.

After the offshore challenge of the 71st Regata dei Tre Golfi, the 2026 IMA Maxi Europeans entered its inshore phase in the waters off Sorrento, with the first coastal race of the series delivering tactical and closely fought racing across all classes.

This Osprey event took place as part of the annual Coniston Regatta sponsored by Toplex and a host of other generous local firms. 80 dinghies took to the water and the Ospreys contributed 10% of the entries. The event overall was a resounding success.

The trio leading the way today — made up of two seasoned sailors and a young talent who already claimed a stage victory in 2025 during his rookie season — managed to carve out a small breakaway on the 2nd day of 2nd leg of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec.

Scheduled for Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th September 2026, entries are open for the combined clubs’ Butterfield Jersey Regatta for cruiser/racer, sportsboat, dayboat, dinghy and sport-catamaran classes.
