Day 2 of our National 12 River and Dales Weekend was held at Yorkshire Dales SC. After the battering the fleet had received on the river at Yorkshire Ouse SC the day before, we were looking forward to something a little more sailable.

Six teams of secondary school sailors from across Dumfries and Galloway gathered at Annandale Sailing Club for the 2026 Five Castles Schools Regatta, generously funded by Common Thread.

It was a bit of “Déjà Vu” with a breeze of about 5 knots from the South East for a race that was supposed to go to somewhere off Newtown and finish at Yarmouth for lunch, but little possibility of anything more until midday.

The Royal Corinthian at Burnham on Crouch hosted their Flying Fifteen Open on the 13th/14th of June sponsored by Waples Wines.

Those who were lucky enough to be there were treated to proper champagne sailing! It may not have been the biggest turnout (a lament of many clubs, it appears) but it was a superb event that had everyone grinning from ear to ear.
