The second day of the RS200 Noble Marine Nationals hosted by SCYC delivered classic “Cape Town” conditions, as one seasoned South African sailor observed “it is sunny and windy just like Cape Town”.

Kestrel Nationals at Stone day 1
A windy day saw the fleet launch with varying degrees of trepidation. Racing was right on the edge, with Sandy & Ailsa (1632) deciding early on to retire when their jib halyard snapped, followed by Karin Grice with her last minute stand in crew.

Scorpion Nationals at Penzance Day 3
Tuesday dawned with clear blue skies and a good breeze which was a welcome sight for the Scorpion sailors after a day ashore yesterday. An additional race was planned after losing two yesterday, so there was definitely a buzz in the dinghy park.

Miracle Nationals at Tenby Day 2
After a Monday that was called off early due to the Storm Floris, today’s racing in Tenby featured seriously breezy weather, with some lumpy gusts for good measure. Some folks decided (perhaps wisely) to stay ashore.

Border Counties Midweek Series at Port Dinorwic
Port Dinorwic was a new venue for the Tuesday Club seeing 31 boats on the water with some of the sailors having not sailed in tidal waters it was looking like an interesting day with a steep learning curve (keep an eye on the locals!)
