For the first time in more than a decade, the New York Yacht Club emerged victorious at the Morgan Cup Team Race.

Eleni Triantou and Leo Gosling emerged as the big winners as 448 young sailors wrapped up the 2026 ILCA 4 Youth World Championship in Aarhus after a demanding week of strong winds, sunshine and intense racing on Aarhus Bay.

The Firefly class is on the up, with a host of younger sailors joining the class having been introduced to the boat through university team racing, as well as some who started sailing with their parents, and are now campaigning their own boats.

The 2026 RORC Round Britain and Ireland Race started with cannon fire from the Royal Yacht Squadron Line in Cowes, marking the start of one of offshore sailing’s greatest challenges.

A fabulous week with fourteen Swallows enjoying mostly benign breezes, the usual tidal current challenges, sunshine-soaked days and a full-on social programme!

The opening day of racing at the 2026 GP14 World Championships on Belfast Lough delivered a stern test for competitors and race officials alike, as rapidly changing weather conditions forced organisers to abandon the first championship race.

Day 3 of the Noble Marine Comet Trio Nationals beckoned with all to play for. The race officer delayed the start waiting for the wind to change direction and settle in. A much appreciated decision as the competitors had a lovely time.

It was heartening to hear that many of the more mature sailors had picked up or agitated old injuries, after all, why should I be the only one suffering.

The wait is over. After three years of preparation, the Klaipeda ORC European Championship 2026 has officially opened, bringing leading offshore racing teams from across Europe to Lithuania’s port city.
