The Caravan and Motorhome Club and Alan Rogers Travel Group announced the winners of the 2025 Overseas Campsites Awards at last week’s Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show.
The winners were revealed at a time when many ‘van owners will be thinking of planning their tours to the best motorhome sites, or touring Europe in a campervan.
The Overall Winner this year was Les Castels in France. It’s a group of sites, each of which sits in a picturesque location, such as a natural park, in the tranquil countryside, or even in the grounds of a châteaux.
The best campervan sites in France will offer spacious pitches and good facilities, which each of the independently run Les Castels sites should provide, with pools, restaurants and family activities all to hand, too.
The Small / Charming Award went to El Molino de Cabuérniga in Spain. Allowing ‘van owners to enjoy a peaceful getaway in a rural setting, the campsite sits in northern Spain, by the Saja River, with mountains surrounding it. Guests will be able to enjoy swimming, fishing, and riverside walks.

The Most Dog Friendly Award went to another French site, Le Château des Tilleuls. The family-friendly campsite provides visitors with a pool, tennis courts, and a bistro, while guests can enjoy seal-spotting, explore the Somme towpath, or visit a nature reserve.

When it comes to our canine companions, there is a fenced-off dog park, canine-friendly bars, an agility area, and a number of scenic trails to explore. Other features for those who are motorhoming with a dog include ensuring each canine is welcomed with its own kit, and providing mats, cushions and water stations throughout the site. Le Château des Tilleuls isn’t staying still either, with a dog pool and new hiking routes set to be added.
Netherlands-based Vakantiepark Delftse Hout won the Sustainability and Environmental Awareness Award, with the campsite situated near the centre of Delft. It has 550 solar panels across the campsite, which generate 50% of its daily energy.

Camping de Paris in France took the Most Accessible Award, providing flat paths, adapted facilities and offering direct transport links to those who want to visit the main attractions in Paris, such as the Louvre.
The Most Family-Friendly Award went to Le Logis de Breuil in France, a site which sits near Saint-Augustin in what was once farm pastures. Amenities include a play area, a field, an outdoor and covered pool, and the campsite is also only 4.5km away from the sandy beaches found at Charente‑Maritime.
Other winners included Kikopark Playa & Kikopark Rural in Spain, which won The Progress and Innovation Award, Le Château du Gandspette in France, which won The Welcome Award, and El Astral in Spain, which took the Best Restaurant Award. France’s La Rivière Dorée also took The Short Break Award, while Turiscampo in Portugal was named the Most Attractive Award.
